The UST Hospital – Apolinario Mabini Rehabilitation Center AMRC 3celebrated the 38thAnnual National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week last July 23, 2015 with the theme entitled “Karapatan ng May Kapansanan, Isakatuparan.. Now Na!”.  In line with this, a medical mission was held at San Lorenzo Ruiz and Companions, Kaunlaran Village, AMRC 2Dagat-Dagatan, Navotas City. This medical mission was organized and staffed by the department’s consultants, residents, physical therapists and volunteers.

During the mission, patients were examined and assessed by the consultants and residents and some patients even underwent ultrasound procedures.  After which, the patients were given physical therapy AMRC 1treatments and were instructed with home exercise programs by our therapists.  In addition, lectures on low back pain, osteoporosis, transfers and mobility training for persons with disability were given.  Participating drug companies also volunteered to give free medicine samples.  A total of 78 patients were assessed and managed by the team.

It was a tiring yet a fun-filled, service-centered event which was enjoyed by both the staff and patients.
