MESSAGE TO THE
PHILIPPINE ACADEMY OF REHABILITATION MEDICINE
ON ITS 27TH ANNUAL CONVENTION
GREETINGS coming from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Medicine.
This 27th annual convention is a welcome and timely Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity for our colleagues in Rehabilitation Medicine and also in its other related fields of interest. It promotes and upgrades the practice of the profession thereby uplifting the general welfare of individuals.
In biblical times, it was thought that only Jesus can make the ‘lame walk’, a’ paralytic stand-up’, a non functioning hand to grasp once more a desired object. Those were ‘miracles’ before , but now, they are products of scientific minds, well thought of innovations, more so, a product of research, a cutting edge.
Conventions are always a learning avenue to most of us. We create ties between colleagues, we develop deep and meaningful partnerships, we exchange ideas, practices and critical issues. This gathering is a venue for these.
Rehab Med is a rapidly developing, evolving field; initially thought to be the youngest among the specialty societies, but, they are not that young -> formally established in 1974, that is almost 43 years ago. They had grown. Thanks to the founders and teachers ,who, without their patience and endeavours to the highest standards, will not make Rehab Med what it is today : minimizing disabilities, improving the quality of life., making the community happier.
May you have a productive and meaningful assembly.
CONGRATULATIONS! Keep up the good work, it is a job well done.
